Late Great Planet Earth Chapter 6: Currants of Change:

Kagome’s situation was turning into hell. Without electricity, without most of her necessities. No more training. No more electricity in her room or most of the vault. The only places with ion generators were the doors and Clinic. She stared at the doors. Only one light shone down the hallway, and the green light told the doors were open. Was the vault meant to break down this fast? She would have to go back up there eventually, but what would she do with the doors?  It was the huge concrete-carbon titanium enforced door that signaled her coming out. The door was almost 5ft thick and made to survive a nuclear blast.  She sighed in despair. As long as she intended to live, she’d have to face him. She then stared down the hall, toward the “tomb”, where she put the dead bodies all those years ago. There was no possible way there’d be anything of use in there, but she also realized… What about the Life support system? Well, she still has the emergency one working, but how long before all that broke down too? It will only be a matter of time before she’d have to completely surface, then she’d be at the mercy of him…to fear him…to have to watch every second. No second of rest. She shook her head. That was too much to think about. She prepared to get water and food, and to face him.

He sat from his perch on top of the bank building. He couldn’t think about anything except her. He gritted his teeth. “I should have killed her on our first meeting when I got a chance. The bitch is ruling my mind.”

He clinched his fist so hard, it stroke blood. “I must kill her soon…” he smirked, his huge fang exposed “But… I still have things I want to do.”

His ears twitched as the familiar rumble made birds in the distance fly. He chuckled. He jumped off the roof and caught an exposed steel support rod and slid down it at high speeds for 90 stories then jumped the remaining 20 onto the ground...  The smirk on his face exposed a smirk that exposed a dripping fang, and then he ran as fast as he could towards the vault. He craved to get her again. To smell her scent mixed with fear and blood, then the taste of her neck, the fear in her eyes that turned into fiery stubbornness and bravery. Her cobalt-tinted brown obsidian eyes would pierce right into his glowing red ones. Just thinking about it sent more adrenaline through him again. Also fighting her that one day sent another streak of excitement in the thought encountering her again. He likes his prey to fight back. He raced down the street, her scent getting stronger. He smirked with a sadistic chuckle.

“Got you…”

He saw the building the vault was nestled in and hid. The vault was just halfway from closing. Kagome’s scent faded. Inuyasha frowned.

“Where the hell is she?”

He carefully moved through the buildings and trees, trying to sniff her out. Her scent had completely faded. He snarled like a rabid dog as he jumped in front of the vault.

“KAGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?! ARE YOU TAUNTING ME?! YOU BETTER HOPE I DON’T CATCH YOU AGAIN!!!! Cause then I’ll teach you NOT to defy ME!”

He was so mad, his fangs punctured into his chin. He knew where she was headed. Time to meet her there.

Kagome had heard Inuyasha’s voice rumble above the streets, bouncing off the tall buildings and even in the waterways below, where she trudged through waist-deep rainwater. She could tell he was near the vault, so it bought her time. She finally met her destination and quickly raced up, out, and inside, making sure she’d crumble the drip-drop prints that her wet clothes left behind her. No doubt that would clue him in to her route of safety. She wandered into the museum. She stepped on the sides of her feet and walked heel-to-toe to keep her shoes from scuffing and squeaking on the floor. She needed water AND food, but where is she going to get food from in a museum?  Even if the museum did have a food court, the food may be rotten now. She was in a rock and a hard place. She knew she put herself in this situation. Or… or maybe she can find parts to y to fix the broken components in the vault. The database emergency computer worked JUST for stuff like this. She left it alone, afraid of making things worse… but not much can get worse then this?...Can they?  She wandered to the back of the museum and took the doors to a wing she never saw. It was a courtyard. She never knew there was a street behind the museum…She sighed when she saw there were no storm drains though. She had a mission… but how was she going to do it with Inuyasha around. He was smart enough to know she was at the museum. She shivered at the thought that he could be watching her as she thought…right now. Panic seiged through here as she looked around for another place to hide. Unfortunately, some of the signs had Kanji on them that she failed to ever learn, since she was so young and stuck to the basics after the mysterious mass death of her vaultmates. She has yet to explore the city in fear of Inuyasha. She had wanted too, but really couldn’t since he was around. She snuck back into the main hall under the glass dome. There was something new. Something she’s never noticed before. It was only part of a dinosaur skeleton. She stared up at it when she heard a crunch of gravel. She spun around. Nothing. The chill of adrenaline filled her. What a God-awful feeling this was. She heard it again. She gritted her teeth and charged her gun. She spun around, ready to shoot, when she saw it wasn’t Inuyasha. Her eyes widened as the large boar-like creature had the same glowing eyes as Inuyasha, but this time, they were green. It circled her the same way Inuyasha circled her the first time they met. She watched it carefully while watching for Inuyasha from the corner of her eye. She growled at the boar. The boar seemed like it was studying the new creature, but its mouth started to drip with drool.  It charged at her.

Inuyasha carefully snuck around in buildings and trees to try to pick up any sight or scent of Kagome. She usually headed for the museum, so that’s where he headed. All of a sudden, he heard the sound only he could hear with his genetically added canine ears. The round of a ray gun, then that unmistakable shriek of terror. He snickered and raced toward it, but then he picked up another scent.

“An Armadillo Boar…”

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-

She once again rolled out of the way, holding her gun and a nice chunk of her left upper arm was lacerated, skin hanging from the wound. She shot the ray gun again, but it did nothing. Then something she never expected happened. It rolled into a ball and its armor-like hair spiked then it rolled at her. She screamed as she ran behind a pillar. The boar unrolled and swung around the pillar. Just as she saw it coming, about to be accepting her fate,

“SANKOU TESSOU!”

In a flash of yellow, the boar was thrown against the wall. Kagome pushed herself against the wall and looked up in a mix of horror and surprise to see Inuyasha staring down at her. The murderous look in his eyes told her she was not going to get away with her actions lately of avoiding him. In a low, heart rumbling growl, he snarled,

“I’ll deal with you later”

Without looking away from her widened eyes, he jumped as the wounded boar now focused on him. He spread his claws wider, his eyes glowing brightly as he yelled,

“Sankou Tessou!”

Kagome watched as his claws streaked yellow and he dealt another slashing blow to the boar. She was wondering if this would be her fate and… how come he’s never done it before…on her?
The boar was now mortally wounded, but wouldn’t give up. Inuyasha jumped on to of the balcony and chuckled at the boar. The boar was sick of this game. He wanted prey. Easy prey. He then charged at Kagome. He didn’t know why, but it came out of him involuntarily,

“KAGOME!”

She looked up at him for a second, but in that split second, it seemed to pass slowly as they locked eyes. The boar charged into her, tossing her a crossed the room. Inuyasha, with no hesitation jumped in front of her and starred down the boar. Kagome sat up and seethed in pain, then looked up at Inuyasha, who looked like he was guarding her.

“Wha”

“Don’t get any ideas, bitch. You are mine and belong to ME! The only thing allowed to maul you or kill you is me. I won’t let some pig take that away from me.”

She noticed the…uncertainty… in his voice. The boar, with a deafening, blood curdling squeal, charged once again at Inuyasha, He clawed the boar, just as a tusk of the boar cut him along the stomach. Kagome’s eyes widened as it seemed not to bother him. He grabbed a handful of blood and threw it at him,

“Hijin Kessou!”

Kagome cringed at each “blade of blood” that hit the boar one at a time. The boar sat a moment, but when Inuyasha took one second to be cocky, the boar charged him, knocking him to the ground, but it set off the trap. The trap he had made for Kagome. It didn’t work like he planed it. It fell on top of him, one HUGE brachiosaur rib stabbing right through his torso, stabbing from the top of his chest to the top of his pelvis. He was shocked to hear Kagome mournfully scream,

“INUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYASHAAAAA!”

Then the boar fell, and after a death rattle, died. Kagome made sure the boar was dead. Inuyasha snarled like an injured, rabid dog, gasping painfully between each growl. Kagome got up and stared at him. She caught sight that some loose, cracked glass from the glass dome stabbed him in his left side, chest and left arm. His right arm was at a strange angle as well, probably broken. He was in such a helpless, pathetic state.

“Go ahead and kill me.”

Kagome snapped out of her stare, “What?”

Inuyasha’s large fang hung out of his mouth, “Keh. You wouldn’t. Even though you won’t ever have a better chance.”

Kagome slowly shook her head, “You’re right. I don’t want to kill you.”

Inuyasha scoffed, “Keh, baka. Your sentimental mind is going to get you killed…especially what you’ve been pulling lately. I don’t know weither I should teach you a lesson or play along with the thrill of the hunt.”

He seethed. Kagome dropped her equipment and walked up to him. He barked,
“STAY BACK!”

Kagome got a stubborn look on her face, “NO! You need help.”

“Keh! I’ll be fine in a few days! Leave me be. I’ll heal...”

He seethed again. Kagome sighed, “Your attitude will someday get you in a worse fix then you are now.”

“Shut up, Wench. You better be out of here by the time I’m free as you will feel the sting close to what I gave that boar.”

It annoyed Inuyasha that Kagome looked at him with a doubtful look.
“Quiet down, you are loosing a lot of blood.”

“Keh, I’ve had worse. Remember. I’m not a human like you…. I’m-”

He paused as he watched Kagome take off her vest and her long-sleeved shirt, revealing a white tank-top, see-through from being wet, which showed her dark green sports bra. He gulped, his voice cracking,

    “Wha… What are you doing?”

Kagome ignored his stare, relieve he shut up with the threats. She began to tear her shirts into shreds, seething at her own wound.

“Making bandages”

“I DON’T-“

“I DON’T BLOODY CARE!”

They glared at each other. Inuyasha snarled.

“I am still now and forever your worst nightmare and enemy.”

Kagome shrugged,

“I know. But…” she only shrugged as she kneeled by him. She looked over the wounds and frowned. Inuyasha wriggled, trying to get free.

“I’m gonna get you and kill you wench! Listen to me!”

Kagome snapped, “Stop that! You are loosing enough blood! If you keep doing that you’ll-“

Inuyasha collapsed fully and fell under unconsciousness. Kagome sighed as she finished,

“-pass out”.

She sighed. She had to help him. She had no choice. Having Inuyasha around was better then being alone. She didn’t care if he killed her very much…She just didn’t want to die alone. She looked over her project with nausea. His wounds would have killed a normal person in an instant. A huge brachiosaurus rib bone pierced throughout his full torso. He should be dead… plus he had the large shards of glass. She risked him waking back up and stood and wrapped cloth around her hands to pull out the large shards of glass from his arm, left side of his chest and side, some in his leg. It was a gruesome task, but she did it. She looked at the large torso skeleton, it stuck up taller then she even stood. She tried to push it, but it wouldn’t move. She was nervous as Inuyasha began to pale. She looked at him a moment. Without his red eyes glowing and his teeth bared and snarling… She couldn’t help but feel a tinge blush to her cheeks, but there was no time to gawk at her enemy. She finally took her ray gun and melted the rest of the bone around him. Finally, she was able to pull it out of him. She pulled him a crossed the floor into a clear area with a beam of sunlight. She made quick work and wrapped him up in her makeshift bandages. She sighed as the blood soaked the bandages within seconds. She sighed. She knew there was only one way to help him if she wanted him to stay alive…

She has to take him to her clinic…

In her vault….

Yay! I think This chapter makes a turn in so many ways for the story and I tortue you all with something that I use something I've not really used in this story.... Clue... it involves my husband's name :)

Ok...
Reader question:
"I thought Inuyasha was only in his full [Youkai] when he didn't have Tetsaiga and his life was in danger".

Answer: This is a AU story and in this story Inuyasha is Half Mutant, meaning his dad was genetically made to be a human with the Seleticed Dog DNA...And his mom was hhuman... so I guess in Japanese he'd be a "Hanitai"... well The Japanese for Mutant is "Henitai" Which literally means "Strange differant Body"... "Hen" meaning strange... So I guess it's be Hanitai- Half strange bodied...Heehhehe... So Inuyasha is half mutant in this story. His eyes are constantly red for his violent, hunting, fighting, angry, sedistic mood... Which is... all the time....
